The Hinwil, Switzerland-based team was founded by Peter Sauber in 1970. It raced as Sauber, BMW Sauber and Alfa Romeo before Audi took over for 2026.
Sauber competed in Formula 1 from 1993, with a high point as BMW Sauber winning the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix and finishing second in that year's constructors' championship.
From 2026 Audi fields a full works entry as part of its push into Formula 1.
